Often times you will hear people joke saying that the future predicted in the past was so much greater than how it actually turned out to be. I disagree with this. Yes we may not be all wearing polyester jumpsuits and driving flying cars but I think in many ways it does indeed measure up to what we predicted. If you told me as a child in the seventies that I could go to a screen that I hold in my hand and order almost any product I would be damn impressed for sure. The same goes for self driving cars, portable phones that even play movies and surgical procedures that use internal cameras inside our bodies. I could go on. Yes the future did turn out pretty amazing even if we still do dress the way we please or don’t live in the sky like The Jetsons.
